By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On August 21, 2024, the UDP welcomed back former Port Loyola Area Representative Anthony “Boots” Martinez.
Martinez was sworn in as the standard bearer for Port Loyola.
Boots replaces Phillip Willoughby who was replaced after he got married to the daughter of his opponent, Area Representative Gilroy Usher.
Boots remained active by attempting to recall Area Representative Usher based on a vote of no-confidence.
But that failed and he will now represent the UDP in the 2025 general elections.
