By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police in Belize City have launched a murder investigation following the gruesome discovery of an unidentified woman’s partially decomposed body inside a garbage drum at the corner of Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road.
According to reports, around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, police were alerted by the Control Room and responded to the scene, where they found the body of a dark-complexioned female dressed in a black blouse bearing the word “Champion” and red short jeans. The victim had multiple visible injuries to the upper body.
Initial investigations reveal that around 4:30 p.m., a man was searching through the blue garbage drum for bottles when he made the shocking discovery and immediately contacted police.
Scene of Crime technicians processed the area, and the body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead at 6:38 p.m. The remains, listed as “Jane Doe,” have since been taken to the National Forensic Science Service morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
Police continue their investigation into what is being treated as a case of murder.
