By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Livestock Producers’ Association (BLPA) is gearing up for its 47th Annual General Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, a key national gathering that brings together cattle farmers and livestock stakeholders from across the country.
The BLPA AGM remains one of the most important events on the livestock calendar, serving as a forum for members to review the Association’s work over the past year, assess developments in the industry, and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping Belize’s livestock sector. The meeting will also feature the election of Board Members, ensuring continued leadership and representation for producers nationwide.
BLPA says strong participation from farmers is essential to maintaining a responsive and united industry. The AGM, the Association emphasizes, is designed to ensure that producers’ voices guide decision‑making and that policies reflect the realities on the ground.
In preparation for the meeting, BLPA extended the membership registration deadline to Saturday, February 21, 2026. Only registered and active members will be eligible to vote at the AGM, and the Association has reiterated that no on‑site registration will be available on the day of the event.
Farmers may register at the BLPA Office, through Authorized Local Agents, at Cattle Offices in Mennonite communities, or online.
With the AGM approaching, BLPA is encouraging all members to attend, stay informed, and take part in discussions that influence both the industry’s development and the livelihoods of livestock producers across Belize.
