By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, August 5, 2024, the Benque Viejo Police Community Policing Unit and Officer Commanding Jesus Palma, kicked off a one-week summer camp for local youth.
This initiative will involve 100 youths from Benque Viejo del Carmen.
The camp began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Kevin Tzib. The day’s program included a series of engaging presentations:
Tricia Bell from the National Drug Abuse Control Council provided the first presentation.
Danny Castellanos from the Department of Youth Services followed with the second presentation.
Representatives from the Department of Fire Services Benque delivered the third presentation.
After lunch, the youths participated in a basketball session led by Heraldo Rancharan from the Sports Council, where they were introduced to the fundamentals of the game.
