By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Benque United earned their first win of the Premier League of Belize 2025–2026 Closing Championship with a solid 2–0 victory over Port Loyola on Sunday at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.
After a tight first half, Benque broke through in the 65th minute when #6 Alejandro Quintero fired home the opener. Four minutes later, Benque doubled their lead from the penalty spot, with Fernando Aguirre converting in the 69th minute.
Port Loyola pushed forward late but were unable to break down Benque’s defensive block.
The win moves Benque United to four points, while Port Loyola remain on three points after suffering their third loss of the season.
