By Horace Palacio: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan is mourning the loss of Reverend Father Callistus Cayetano, affectionately known as Fr. Cal. Fr. Cal passed away peacefully in his sleep early this morning in Barranco, Toledo.
Ordained on August 15, 1973, Fr. Cal dedicated over five decades of his life to serving the Catholic community in Belize. His unwavering faith, compassionate nature, and dedication to his parishioners made him a beloved figure throughout the diocese.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the diocese in the coming days.
As the community grieves the loss of this devoted priest, they also celebrate his life and legacy. Fr. Cal’s unwavering commitment to his faith and his people will forever be remembered.
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
