By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belmopan is gearing up for a New Year’s Eve celebration like no other, and the excitement has only grown with a major update: the Toast to 2026 Free Concert is officially moving to the Civic Center Parking Lot. The shift from Governor General Field comes after recent rains left both GG Field and Sir George Brown Field too soft for a large‑scale event, prompting organizers to secure a safer, more reliable venue for the thousands expected to attend.

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the Civic Center grounds will come alive from 7:30 pm to 2:00 am, transforming into a festive hub of music, lights, and community spirit. Organized by Mayor Pablo Cawich, Minister Oscar Mira, the Councilors, and the Belmopan City Council, the event promises one massive stage, a vibrant crowd, and a countdown that will echo across the capital.

This year’s lineup blends international flair with Belizean pride. Two performers from Trinidad & Tobago — DJ Ana and Ultra Simo — will bring Caribbean energy to the stage, joining a strong roster of Belizean talent including DJ Genna, Ras Indio, Super Furia Band, Ben McKoy, Lord Rhaburn, Cocono Bwai, Bussa B Band, 822 Rebels, and Mime Martinez. Together, they’ll deliver a night of nonstop entertainment leading up to the midnight fireworks that will light up the Belmopan sky.

Families and friends can expect a safe, lively, and welcoming atmosphere filled with music, food, and festive décor — the perfect setting to close out 2025 and step into the New Year with joy and unity. Supported by sponsors such as Recondev, Travellers Liquors, Digi, Builders Hardware, Belize Collection, NBB, Acquity, and others, the Toast to 2026 Concert is shaping up to be one of the most memorable celebrations the capital has ever hosted.

In Belmopan, “this is where 2026 begins” — with rhythm, community, and a night to remember.
