By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 54-year-old Belmopan woman has reported that she was assaulted by a former boyfriend who recently returned from the United Kingdom and began staying at her apartment.
The woman told police that a man, whom she dated approximately eight years ago, arrived at her home with luggage on June 28, 2026.
She said they had remained friends and had discussed establishing a business together. However, she reportedly placed the business plans on hold after her ex asked her to register it in another person’s name.
She alleged that during an argument on July 4, her ex took her phone and tablet. When she attempted to recover her phone, he allegedly pushed her in the chest several times, squeezed her arms and shoved her backwards into a sofa.
The woman further alleged that Palacio grabbed and twisted her left foot, causing her pain.
She reported the incident at the Belmopan Police Station on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
