By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belmopan Football Club are making strides in their aim to make a resurgence in the Premier League of Belize through an alliance with a Mexican club and the signing of several foreign players. After taking over the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Bandits franchise, Belmopan FC are aiming to reclaim their glory days.
On December 12, 2024, Belmopan FC announced an international sports alliance with Alebrijes Oaxaca, a second-division club from Oaxaca, Mexico. This partnership is set to bring numerous benefits to Belmopan FC, including training clinics for coaches, player exchanges, and fostering a friendly relationship between the two clubs. The signing was done by Cruz Gamez, President of Belmopan FC, and Julio Villalobos, Director of Sports Development for Alebrijes, representing their president Juan Carlos Jones.
