By Aaron Humes: Last Wednesday, police in Belmopan executed an intelligence-led operation focused on drug trafficking. The operation, which took place on Girasol Street in the Las Flores area around 2:40 p.m., resulted in the arrest and charging of four individuals: Kenny Sosa, 23, Deandre Lara, 20, Paulino Ortiz, 35, and Milton Ortiz, 25.
During the operation, officers recovered 1.40 grams of suspected cocaine and 120 grams of cannabis from the immediate vicinity, where the suspects were congregating. Milton Ortiz faced additional charges after police searched a bag belonging to him, leading to the discovery of 37.5 grams of suspected cocaine.
