By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belmopan City Council issued a statement saying that following significant rainfall, the city is experiencing overflowing drains and localized flooding.
Mayor Pablo Cawich, City Councilors and the entire team at the Belmopan City Council assures residents that emergency and maintenance crews are actively deployed across the city.
“Teams are working tirelessly in the rain to clear blocked drains and alleviate flooding as quickly as possible.
Your safety is our absolute priority. We strongly urge all residents to exercise extreme caution. If you do not need to be out on the roads, please stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve,” the Belmopan City Council said.
The council says that it is monitoring the situation closely.
