By Zoila Palma: The Belmopan City Council is pressing ahead with community improvements in the Las Flores area, focusing on both recreational spaces and road maintenance.
Acting Mayor Coretta Banner visited the neighborhood this week to assess ongoing works.
At the community park, landscaping is being upgraded as part of wider plans to enhance the space for recreation and community engagement.
City officials say the upgrades aim to provide residents with safer, more accessible public areas that encourage outdoor activities.
Banner also visited Racoon Avenue, just off Hummingbird Drive, where road patching is underway. The maintenance works are expected to improve traffic flow, extend the lifespan of the roadway, and reduce the risk of accidents for daily commuters.
These projects are part of the Council’s broader commitment to improving infrastructure and public spaces across Belmopan.
