By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belmopan City Council has issued a public notice on Friday, January 31, informing residents about a new garbage collection route that will be tested starting Monday, February 3, 2025. This adjustment is part of an effort to incorporate newly acquired equipment and aims to provide all residents with a twice-a-week service, including those who were previously not receiving service.
The Belmopan City Council said garbage collection will commence at 4:00 am four days per week, and residents are encouraged to place their trash out the night before to facilitate a timely pickup.
The new garbage collection schedule is as follows:
Monday & Thursday:
– Cohune Walk
– Cohune Walk Extension
– Forest Drive
– Rivera Area
– Orchid Garden
– Orchid Garden Extension
– Belmopan Villas
– Piccini
– Piccini Extension
– Habet Housing
– Egolie
– J & W Area
– North Salvapan
– North Maya Mopan
Tuesday & Friday:
– Belmopan West
– Belmopan Industrial Park
– Embassy Square
– Market Square
– Site 1
– Site 2
– Central Site
– Site 7
– University Heights
– Bridges
– Fruits
– Police Housing
– Hill View
– Las Flores
– Mountain View
– South Salvapan
– San Martin
– South Maya Mopan
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we test this new schedule to improve waste management in Belmopan,” the Belmopan City Council said.
