By Zoila Palma: Belize proudly stood on the global stage as Isabella “Bella” Zabaneh, the nation’s Miss Universe representative, delivered a warm, charismatic, and authentic performance during the 74th Miss Universe Pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Although she did not place in the competition’s final rankings, Isabella’s presence was felt far beyond the judging panel. She captivated audiences, contestants, and supporters with her Belizean charm, humility, and genuine love for people.
Isabella’s father, Emilio Zabaneh, shared heartfelt words that quickly resonated across Belizean social media.
His message reflected both pride and admiration for his daughter’s journey. “No top placement, I understand, it’s a business and a great business at that,” he wrote, acknowledging the realities of the pageant world while emphasizing what truly mattered—Isabella’s character.
Isabella remained unwaveringly herself even after the final results were announced.
She continued greeting fans, offering photo opportunities, and welcoming anyone who approached her. “Everybody wanted to come meet Bella,” he shared, highlighting the warm reception she received in Bangkok.
One moment, in particular, captured the hearts of many: when Isabella gently handed her bouquet to a little girl in the crowd, stooping down to meet her at eye level and making her day.
