By Horace Palacio: Fair weather will dominate Belize’s skies today, though residents should expect cloudy intervals and the possibility of isolated showers later this evening. The Belize Meteorological Service reports that while daytime showers will remain minimal, there is a higher chance of rainfall developing over coastal and northern areas as the night progresses.
Marine conditions will be moderately choppy, with waves between 3 to 5 feet. Winds will remain light, ranging from 5-15 knots, providing favorable conditions for both fishermen and boaters.
The temperature forecast indicates a warm day ahead, with coastal areas reaching 85°F (29°C), inland areas warming to 89°F (32°C), and hilly regions experiencing highs of 78°F (26°C). Nighttime temperatures will dip to 77°F (25°C) along the coast, 71°F (21°C) inland, and 65°F (18°C) in the hills, offering a cool and comfortable evening.
Looking ahead to Friday and Friday night, cloudy spells are expected to persist, accompanied by a few scattered showers across the country.
Tidal information for today includes low tide at 8:12 AM, high tide at 2:36 PM, and low tide at 11:00 PM, with the next high tide expected at 5:20 AM on Friday. The sun will set at 5:56 PM, while the moon is set to rise at 12:49 AM tomorrow.
As the weekend approaches, forecaster Francisca Wellington encourages residents to enjoy the sunny weather during the day but remain prepared for showers, particularly along the coast and northern regions as the night sets in.
