By Zoila Palma: Belize’s agriculture sector has seen substantial growth over the past four years, with its value rising by more than 50%, according to new figures shared during the 2025 Budget Debate.
Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai, reported that the sector’s value—excluding manufacturing—jumped from $560.8 million in 2020 to $842 million in 2024.
That represents a $281.6 million increase and a 50.2% expansion in 4 years.
