From early morning hours, retail outlets, supermarkets, appliance stores, and hardware suppliers reported heavy foot traffic as families sought to stretch their holiday budgets.
Shoppers are taking advantage purchasing their household appliances, along with groceries, household furniture, and construction materials.
Many said the tax break made a noticeable difference, allowing them to buy essentials and long-postponed items at more affordable prices ahead of the festive season.
Retailers welcomed the surge in customers, noting that the GST-free weekend provided a significant boost to sales at a critical time of the year.
The previous GST-free weekend was held on December 6, making this final opportunity especially important for families preparing for Christmas celebrations and year-end needs.
