By Zoila Palma: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is turning up the heat with its signature culinary showdown, Taste of Belize 2025, set for this Saturday, August 9, at Caribbean Motors in Belize City.
Running from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the event promises a day-long celebration of Belizean taste, talent, and tradition.
Food lovers, families, and tourists alike are invited to enjoy a flavorful experience while witnessing the nation’s top chefs and bartenders battle it out in live competitions.
The event features four exciting competition categories: Master Chef of the Year, Junior Chef of the Year, Pastry Chef of the Year, and Bartender of the Year.
Competitors will showcase their skills in front of a live audience, adding to the electric atmosphere.
The Master Chef and Pastry Chef categories are open to those with at least three years of professional experience, while the Junior Chef category welcomes participants aged 21 or younger with less than two years in the culinary field. Bartenders must have a minimum of two years’ professional experience.
Participation is open to all Belizeans who meet the eligibility requirements.
A valid ID and food safety certification—or proof of enrollment in a certification course—must be submitted during registration.
The competition slots are limited, with a maximum of 12 Master Chef entries, 6 Junior Chefs, 6 Pastry Chefs, and 20 Bartenders, making this a highly competitive and prestigious event.
Tickets are available at the BTB office at 64 Regent Street in Belize City.
Entry is free for kids under 12, $5 for ages 12–16, and $15 for those 17 and older.
With just four days to go, excitement is building for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Belize’s vibrant culinary scene.
