Belizean Powerlifter Amorette Banman clinches Gold at NAPF Regional Powerlifting Championships

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belizean Powerlifter Amorette Banman has clinched Gold in the NAPF Regional Powerlifting championships.

Banman is representing Belize in the Female Sub Junior in the NAPF Regional Powerlifting Championships.

The 16-year-old powerlifter won 3 Gold Medals, and 1 Silver.

Banman won Gold in Squats, Sliver in Bench press, Gold in Deadlifts, and Gold over all in her category.

Banman makes history becoming the first ever female Junior to win Gold for Belize.

Amorette’s mom, Lupita expressed her pride and excitement on Facebook.

“Thankful for her and to her. In a country where “drinking booze” is considered the national sport, she stands out for her discipline, determination, and dedication to Powerlifting, a demanding sport. You have to make it your life, and her hard work is paying off…. sitting through meals and skipping her favorite desserts, eating the same thing every single day to maintain weight and retain strength, becoming anti social and staying focused on her goal,” Lupita said.

“Thankful to everyone who has unconditionally supported her. It does take a community to raise a child and it takes a unique support system to catapult them to success,” Lupita added.
