Belizean fishermen are among the regional crews preparing to compete in the 26th Roatán International Fishing Tournament, held from September 11 to 14, 2025. The official competition begins Friday, September 12, and continues through Sunday, September 14, with daily weigh-ins and vibrant carnival nights in island’s West End.
Roatán, the largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras, offers deep waters and rich marine biodiversity—ideal conditions for sportfishing teams from across Central America and the Caribbean.
Among the Belizean boats that made the journey to Roatán are Amigos del Mar, Sweet Caroline, Shelby Dee, and Ms Lexi, joined by other vessels representing the country’s strong maritime tradition.

1st Place: $25,000
2nd Place: $5,000
3rd Place: $2,500- Rodeo Category

- San Simon Beach Club, West Bay – Registration and award ceremony
- Coconut Tree Dock, West End – Judge’s station and daily weigh-ins
Schedule Highlights
- Fishing Days: September 12–14 (lines out at 3:00 p.m.)
- Weigh-ins: 3:00–6:00 p.m. daily
- West End Carnival: Parades and music nightly from 5:00 p.m. onward
The event wraps up Sunday evening with an award ceremony and closing carnival.
