By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belizean cyclist Roque Matus continues to impress on the international stage, securing 3rd Place overall in the Division 2 Masters category at the Tour de BIM in Barbados. The Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB) issued a congratulatory statement on September 29, celebrating Matus’ podium finish and encouraging him to “continue to shine in the Master’s category.”
Earlier in the event, the CFB had celebrated Matus’s early dominance, noting on Saturday, September 27, that he was leading the 50+ Category while representing MnM. His leadership in the age division highlighted his tactical strength and endurance across the multi-day competition.
The Tour de BIM is one of the Caribbean’s premier Masters-level races, attracting seasoned riders from across the region. Matus’s ability to maintain top form and finish among the best reflects both his personal dedication and the growing presence of Belizean athletes in international cycling.
