Belizean Chocolcate showcased at Miramar Coffee, Chocolate, and Culture Expo 2024

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Earlier this month, BELTRAIDE represented Belize at the Miramar Coffee, Chocolate, and Culture Expo 2024.

The event was held from February 1 to 4, 2024 and brought together chocolate enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and industry professionals in Miami Florida to celebrate the rich flavors and traditions woven into every bite of chocolate.

In the heart of Belize, amidst its sun-kissed beaches and emerald rainforests, a burgeoning chocolate renaissance is unfolding.

As a part of its trade promotion efforts, EXPORTBelize, a unit of BELTRAIDE, participated to showcase Belizean products, championing Belizean chocolatiers and their exquisite creations.

BELTRAIDE noted that the event provided a strategic platform for these artisans to showcase their craftsmanship and share the unique flavors and stories behind their products.

The event featured products included whole cacao beans, chocolates, cacao nibs, cacao tea, coffee, coffee rum and much more.

Accompanying BELTRAIDE on its mission, with the support of the Belize American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), were two esteemed Belizean companies, Ixcacao and Wine Time.

Together, they offered a comprehensive representation of Belizean culture, accentuating the diverse experiences that the country has to offer. Belize’s unique cultural heritage was also highlighted as a prime component of its vibrant tourism product in the keynote address delivered by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB).

Ixcacao, a renowned Belizean chocolate company, captivated visitors with its dedication to preserving ancient Mayan chocolate-making techniques. Operating as a local cacao farmer while responsibly sourcing organic cacao beans from neighboring farmers, Ixcacao not only crafts exceptional chocolate but also champions sustainable agricultural practices and empowers local communities.

Wine Time, another prominent participant, added a sophisticated twist to the Belizean chocolate experience by showcasing pairings of fine wines with artisanal chocolates. Wine Time demonstrated how the hints of flavor in both wine and chocolate can complement and elevate each other, creating unforgettable tasting experiences.

BELTRAIDE’s presence at the Miramar Expo underscored its commitment to fostering economic growth and promoting Belizean industries on the global stage.
