Belizean broker arrested after fatally shooting man nine times at Heart Beat Night Club

By Horace Palacio: A shooting incident at the Heart Beat Night Club in Bella Vista resulted in the death of one man, Independence Police reported on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Christon Logan, was shot outside the nightclub in a sudden and violent attack. According to initial investigations, the assailant, Cornelius Martinez, a 39-year-old Belizean broker from Independence, approached Logan and fired approximately nine shots, causing fatal injuries.

Authorities received the report of the incident via a 911 call. Officers promptly arrived at the scene, where they carried out the necessary investigative procedures.

A 9mm firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, was retrieved and is being kept as an exhibit in the ongoing investigation.

In addition to the firearm, the police have impounded a vehicle related to the incident. The Belize Police Department has not released further details about the vehicle or its connection to either the victim or the suspect.

Cornelius Martinez was arrested following the incident.

The police have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting or the nature of any relationship between Martinez and Logan.
