By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police believe that the shooting of 26-year-old Belizean entertainer Kenroy Linares, popularly known as Kenny Juice, may be gang-related, although investigators have not established a definitive motive.
Linares was shot on Queen Charlotte Street in Belize City on Monday night, October 26, 2026.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith said officers patrolling the Yabra area heard gunshots at approximately 7:30 p.m. and subsequently received information from the police control room concerning a shooting on Queen Charlotte Street.
Investigations revealed that Linares had just exited a shop when two men approached him and opened fire, causing injuries.
He was transported for medical attention and was listed in stable condition, according to the latest information provided by police.
While investigators have not determined the exact circumstances that led to the attack, Smith indicated that the information gathered so far suggests a possible gang connection.
The shooting comes amid continued gun violence in Belize City, including an incident on Arlington Drive on Sunday night in which an 11-year-old girl was injured after a gunman opened fire on a group socializing outside a residence.
Police continue investigating the attack on Linares.
