BELIZE ARE BACK! After a 12-year absence, the Belize Women’s National Softball Team are set to make their long-awaited return to the Central American Games, stepping onto the diamond this Friday, October 24, in Guatemala City. Their opening match against El Salvador at 5:30 pm marks a historic moment for Belize’s athletes, coaches, and supporters who have championed the sport’s revival.
The women’s tournament runs from October 24 to October 28, featuring a round-robin format followed by Paige System playoffs. Belize’s schedule is packed with five group-stage games over four days:
- Friday, October 24 – vs El Salvador at 5:30 pm
- Saturday, October 25 – vs Nicaragua at 3:00 pm
- Saturday, October 25 – vs Honduras at 5:30 pm
- Sunday, October 26 – vs Panama at 3:00 pm
- Monday, October 27 – vs Guatemala at 8:00 pm
The top four teams will advance to the Paige System playoffs on Tuesday, October 28, with match-ups as follows:
- 10:00 am – 4th vs 3rd
- 12:30 pm – 2nd vs 1st
- 3:00 pm – Semi-final: Winner of 4 vs 3 vs Loser of 2 vs 1
- 5:30 pm – Final: Winner of 2 vs 1 vs Semi-final winner
The Belize Women’s squad departed for Guatemala on Tuesday, October 21, following the Men’s National Team campaign last week. Their presence marks a powerful resurgence for Belize Softball, with both teams proudly representing the Jewel in red, white, and blue.
The women’s return is more than a competition — it is a statement of resilience, growth, and national pride. After more than a decade away from the regional stage, the Belize National Women’s Team arrives with high expectations.
