Belize win Silver Medal at Central American U15 Invitational Girls Volleyball Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s U15 Girls Volleyball Team put up a sterling performance winning the silver medal at the Central American U15 Invitational Girls Volleyball Championship. The tournament, held from December 11-15, 2024, in Managua, Nicaragua, saw Belize perform admirably, also securing four individual awards.
Belize’s journey to the silver medal was marked by four impressive victories against one loss. On Saturday, in the most crucial match of the tournament, Belize faced off against the undefeated Costa Rica. Despite a valiant effort, Belize fell to Costa Rica in a tightly contested match, with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, and 25-23. This defeat left Belize with a 2-1 record, while Costa Rica improved to 4-0.
Undeterred, Belize bounced back on Sunday, securing decisive victories in their remaining two matches. They defeated Guatemala 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-20) and El Salvador 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-12) to clinch the second spot on the podium. Costa Rica won their final game to claim the championship title, finishing the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record. El Salvador secured the bronze medal with a 3-2 record.
