By Zoila Palma: Over the weekend, Belize welcomed U.S. Chargé d’affaires Katharine Beamer and her family.
The U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Rhonda Slusher was at Philip Goldson International Airport to welcome Chargé d’affaires Beamer and her family.
Katharine joined the Foreign Service in 2001 and most recently served as the Director of the Office of Caribbean Affairs.
Prior to that she served three tours in Washington as well as overseas in U.S. Embassies in Guatemala, Poland, Slovakia, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic.
She was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in Sociology.
“Katharine enjoys travel with her family, reading, eating, running, and spending time outdoors – which is where you will find her in beautiful Belize,” the U.S. Embassy said.
