By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts mostly sunny skies and hot temperatures today. Tonight skies will be clear to partly cloudy. Little to no rain is expected. Seasonably hot and dry conditions continue over our area.
High temperatures today are forecasted at 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 100 degrees in
inland areas and 86 degrees in the hills, with lows tonight around 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 74 degrees in inland areas, and 67 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect as inland temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible, especially during the afternoon hours.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to 15 knots, resulting in lightly choppy seas.
Tides are high as of 6:41 this morning. Tides will be low at 12:29 this afternoon and high at 6:43 this evening. The sun rose at 5:28 this morning and will set at 6:11 this evening.
Expect similar weather conditions for Monday.
