By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect another day of mainly fair weather conditions, according to the National Meteorological Service. The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with a few cloudy spells during the day and clear to partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will be isolated, with only brief activity expected across the country.
Marine conditions remain calm with east winds blowing at 0 to 10 knots, light and variable, and seas in a slight state with waves between one to three feet. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 95 degrees inland, and 82 degrees in the hills. Overnight lows will dip to 80 degrees along coastal areas, 74 degrees inland, and 67 degrees in the hills.
In the tropical weather outlook, Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine was located near latitude 22.0 north, longitude 75.9 west, or about 110 miles south of the central Bahamas. The system had maximum sustained winds near 35 miles per hour and was moving northwest at seven miles per hour. Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto, with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour, was located near 22.3 north, 59.3 west, or approximately 375 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Forecasters confirm that Humberto poses no threat to Belize.
Looking ahead, forecasters expect partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. A slight increase in showers is expected, particularly over the southern districts on Sunday night.
Tides for today include a low tide at 7:47 in the morning, a high tide at 1:43 in the afternoon, and another low at 6:39 this evening. Tomorrow’s first high tide arrives at 12:49 a.m. Sunrise this morning was at 5:42 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:44 p.m.
