By Horace Palacio: A mix of sun and clouds prevails across Belize today, with the National Meteorological Service forecasting isolated showers and thunderstorms developing inland this afternoon and drifting towards the south and offshore areas tonight. Coastal regions can expect highs around 89°F (32°C), while inland temperatures reach 92°F (33°C). Mountainous areas will be cooler with highs near 80°F (27°C). Sea conditions remain calm with light winds and waves reaching 1-3 feet.
In the Atlantic, Hurricane Leslie poses no immediate threat to Belize as it tracks westward with 85 mph winds. Similarly, Tropical Storm Milton, located southwest of Florida, is moving eastward with 60 mph winds. Hurricane Kirk, with 105 mph winds, is moving away from the Azores. The meteorological service continues to monitor these systems.
Looking ahead to Monday, cloudy periods with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, primarily affecting northern and inland areas before shifting to the south and coast overnight.
