Belize Weather: Showers bring wet start to new week

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Over the next 24 hours, according to the National Meteorological Service, moist and relatively unstable conditions prevail. Skies will be sunny with cloudy spells today and mostly cloudy tonight. Some showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected around the country today and tonight, especially over inland and northern areas this afternoon and the coast tonight.

Average high temperatures forecast today will be 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 86 degrees in inland areas, and 78 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 75 degrees along the coast, 68 degrees inland, and 64 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly to northeasterly at five to 15 knots, and seas run at light chop to choppy.

Tides will be low at 7:09 this morning and 6:04 this evening and high at 1:13 this afternoon. The sun rose at 6:11 this morning and sets at 5:18 this evening.

The extended outlook is for cloudy skies with periods of light to moderate rain, with a few showers or isolated thunderstorms developing across the country on Tuesday. activity is expected to decrease over most places and linger mainly along the coast on Tuesday night, gradually becoming isolated.
