Belize Weather: Rain winding down to start post-Christmas weekend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: According to the National Meteorological Service, moist and unstable conditions will continue today; then a decrease in moisture is expected tonight. Over the next 24 hours, mostly cloudy skies with sunny breaks today and partly cloudy to cloudy skies tonight. Periods of light to moderate rain, along with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, will likely continue mainly along coastal and offshore areas at first, with activity moving over central and southern interior parts of the country during this morning; then shower activity will decrease this afternoon and become isolated tonight.

The average high temperatures forecast for today are 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 85 degrees in inland areas, and 74 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 74 degrees along the coast, 70 degrees inland, and 66 degrees in the hills.
Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots, and wave action is choppy.

Tides will be low at 9:17 this morning and 10:14 this evening, and high at 3:26 this afternoon. The sun rose at 6:21 this morning and sets at 5:26 this evening.

For Sunday, generally fair weather conditions with only isolated showers or thunderstorms expected.
