Belize Weather: Heat wave continues into weekend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Warm and dry conditions prevail according to the National Meteorological Service. Today’s forecast is for sunny skies and partly cloudy skies tonight; little or no rain will develop.

Today’s high temperatures will be 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 98 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 82 degrees along the coast, 74 degrees in inland areas and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect as inland temperatures are expected to reach and exceed 97 degrees Fahrenheit; residents especially of inland communities should stay hydrated and avoid much outdoor activity, especially during the afternoon.

Winds will be easterly at five to ten knots and sea state slight.

Tides are high as of 7:01 this morning and will be high again at half past seven this evening. A low tide occurs at 1:18 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:14 this evening and rises at 5:24 Sunday morning.

Expect similar weather conditions on Sunday.
