By Breaking Belize News Staff: Over the next 24 hours, according to the National Meteorological Service, mainly fair weather conditions prevail, then an approaching cold front will bring some changes over the weekend. Skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy to cloudy skies tonight. Showers, if any, will be isolated.
Average high temperatures forecast today will be 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees in inland areas, and 85 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 82 degrees along the coast, 75 degrees inland, and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect as maximum temperatures inland are expected to reach or exceeds 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Residents, especially those inland are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible, especially during the afternoon hours.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at ten to 20 knots and seas choppy.
Tides will be high at 7:49 this morning and 8:51 this evening and low at 2:48 this afternoon.
The sun rose at 5:22 this morning and sets at 6:15 this evening.
On Saturday, skies will be cloudy at times. Showers or thunderstorms will be mostly isolated, then an increase in cloudiness along with shower activity is expected over the country late saturday evening and night, as a cold front approaches the area.
