By Breaking Belize News Staff: A cold front is in full effect across Belize heading into the New Year, per the National Meteorological Service. Skies today will be cloudy to overcast with light to moderate rain mostly oer the northern and central districts this morning and in the south by this evening, lingering offshore later tonight.
High temperatures stall at 73 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 68 degrees over inland areas and 59 degrees in the hills, then fall to 65 degrees along the coast tonight, 59 degrees in the interior and 54 degrees in the hills.
Winds are northerly at 15 to 25 knots and sea state is rough. A small craft warning is in effect for strong gusty winds and rough seas and mariners are advised to remain in safe harbour.
Tides are low as of 6:51 this morning. A high tide occurs at 12:44 this afternoon, followed by a low tide at 5:53 this evening, and high tide at three minutes to midnight.
On Sunday conditions remain cool with light rain or isolated showers mostly over the coast.
