By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a forecast predicting mainly fair weather conditions across the country today. Residents and visitors can expect sunny skies with a few cloudy spells throughout the day, transitioning to partly cloudy conditions tonight.
While isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, these are expected to be limited, with a slightly higher chance of showers occurring over the southern regions tonight.
Mariners should anticipate moderate sea conditions, with winds blowing from the east to northeast at 10 to 20 knots. Waves are expected to reach heights of 4 to 6 feet.
Temperatures along the coast will range from a high of 88°F (31°C) to a low of 81°F (27°C). Inland areas will experience warmer temperatures, with highs reaching 93°F (34°C) and lows around 75°F (24°C). In the hills, temperatures will be cooler, ranging from 81°F (27°C) to a low of 68°F (20°C).
The National Meteorological Service of Belize reports that there is no expectation of tropical cyclone formation in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico within the next 48 hours.
The forecast for Tuesday and Tuesday night predicts continued mainly fair weather conditions. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, with a slightly higher chance of showers over the extreme southern regions on Tuesday night.
The tide schedule for today includes a low tide at 11:50 AM, a high tide at 6:10 PM, and another low tide at 10:26 PM. The high tide for tomorrow will occur at 5:00 AM.
Sunrise was at 5:31 AM and sunset will be at 6:27 PM today. The moonset is scheduled for 1:35 PM today, and the moonrise will occur tomorrow at 12:55 AM.
