Belize Weather Forecast: Showers, thunderstorms expected today

By Horace Palacio: Belize can expect relatively moist conditions with sunny spells and cloudy periods today, the National Meteorological Service said. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected across most areas this morning, gradually decreasing by the afternoon.

Tonight, isolated showers or thunderstorms are anticipated, particularly in the southern regions.

Temperatures are expected to range from highs of 94°F (34°C) inland to lows of 68°F (20°C) in the hills. Coastal areas will see temperatures between 88°F (31°C) and 82°F (28°C).

Marine conditions will be choppy with E-NE winds at 10-20 knots and waves reaching 3-5 feet.

No tropical cyclone formation is expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico within the next 48 hours.

The outlook for Sunday and Sunday night is mainly fair weather, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible, especially in the south on Sunday night.
