Belize Weather: Fair start gives way to cold snap later

By Breaking Belize News Staff: According to the National Meteorological Service, a cold front will cross the country tonight.

The 24-hour forecast: sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today. Showers will be isolated at first; then a few showers, and possible isolated thunderstorms, will develop inland and over the north late this afternoon and evening. Tonight, skies will be cloudy with a few showers and some light rain over the coast and over central and southern portions of the mainland.

High temperatures today are forecasted at 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 87 degrees inland, but 74 degrees in the hills, with lows tonight around 70 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 66 degrees in inland areas, and 62 degrees in the hills.

Winds are from the east to northeast at five to 15 knots, resulting in lightly choppy seas.

Tides will be low at 9:02 this morning and 11:11 this evening and high at 3:12 this afternoon. The sun rose at 6:25 this morning and will set at 5:44 this evening.

Tuesday sees cloudy skies, cool and windy conditions with some light rain offshore and over southern coastal areas.
