Belize Volleyball Community mourns loss of National Team Player Precelia Hoare

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize volleyball community is mourning the untimely passing of Precelia Hoare, a dedicated member of the National Volleyball Team and a beloved figure in the sport.

The Belize Volleyball Association issued a heartfelt statement extending its deepest condolences to Precelia’s family and the Stars Volleyball Club. The association highlighted her unwavering loyalty to volleyball.

‘She worked incredibly hard as a player, earning her place on the Belize national team, and later served with the same dedication and efficiency as the manager for the young national teams,” the BVA said.

“Her presence, commitment, and love for the sport will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.”

The Stars Volleyball Club also shared their sorrow in a letter to its members, expressing profound sadness over Precelia’s passing. The club extended heartfelt condolences to the Hoare family and emphasized the extraordinary impact Precelia made on their club and the Female National Team.

“Precelia’s dedication to the sport and her unwavering commitment to empowering others were evident in every role she embraced—as a player, coach, and gym manager,” the Stars Volleyball Club’s letter read.

“Her incredible dedication to volunteering at every volleyball event. Her commitment and positive attitude have made a significant impact on our team and the community. Her contributions to our club and country have left a lasting legacy, and her spirit will forever remain a part of Stars Volleyball Club.”

The Stars Volleyball club said her passion for volleyball transcended the court, adding that Precelia’s enthusiasm and positive energy were contagious, truly embodying the spirit of the community.

Precelia Hoare’s passing is a significant loss to the Belize volleyball community. As both a player and a manager, she demonstrated remarkable dedication and passion for the sport. Her efforts in nurturing young talent and her volunteer work at numerous volleyball events have left an indelible mark on the sport in Belize.

“She was a one of a kind with her passion for volleyball and doing things right,”  BVA President Allan Sharp said in expressing his condolences.
