“His contributions to tourism in Belize made him a pivotal figure in shaping and advancing the country’s tourism sector. Mike’s passion for Belize’s natural beauty and rich history led to positioning Barton Creek Cave as one of the country’s top adventure tourism destinations,” the BTB said.
The BTB says that Mike’s dedication to preserving the environment while showcasing Belize’s unique cultural and ecological heritage made him a beloved figure to local and international communities.
As a trailblazer in ecotourism, Mike not only offered visitors an unforgettable experience but also played a vital role in educating tourists and locals alike about the importance of conservation.
His contributions will continue to inspire future generations of tourism professionals and adventurers.
A celebration of life will be held tomorrow March 1 between 1pm-5pm at Hodes Place in San Ignacio.
