By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) joined in congratulating the Gales Point Manatee Community and NICH as Krismos Bram and Sambai have been officially inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity!
“Krismos Bram is a festive Christmas-season tradition filled with music, movement, and community celebration, while Sambai is a dynamic circle dance rooted in drumming, storytelling, and expression.
This marks Belize’s second element to earn this global recognition, alongside Garifuna Language, Music, and Dance,” BTB noted.
The BTB congratulated the National Kriol Council, the National Institute of Culture and History, and the community of Gales Point Manatee for their dedicated work toward this significant achievement.
