By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On October 31, 2024, San Ignacio resident Iyari Garcia graduated with her medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.
Dr. Garcia’s family and friends joined in the celebration congratulating her on this milestone.
“This day is not only memorable for me but for everyone who has been part of this long and beautiful journey. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth it. I am eternally grateful for every challenge, every experience, and every obstacle that God has orchestrated, knowing that He works all things together for good,” Dr. Garcia said.
“This dream could not have become a reality without the constant support and unconditional love of my parents. Words will never fully capture the depth of my gratitude for all the sacrifices they’ve made and everything they’ve done to help me get here. Of course, this achievement belongs not only to me but also to my family and friends who have always been there, offering words of encouragement and keeping me in their prayers. Most importantly, I give thanks to God, for He has been faithful through it all,” Dr. Garcia added.
Dr. Garcia says that she prays that God continue to be her driving force and that her family remains her motivation.
