By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies today with occasional isolated showers affecting different parts of the country. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, the prevailing northeasterly airflow will contribute to mostly fair conditions, though some areas—particularly the south this morning, inland this afternoon, and the coast tonight—may experience slightly more rainfall.
Winds will continue to flow from the east-northeast at speeds of 10-15 knots, keeping the sea state choppy. Wave heights are projected to be between 3 and 5 feet, and small boat operators are encouraged to proceed with caution, especially in open waters.
Temperatures will remain warm and pleasant. Coastal regions will see highs of 84°F (29°C) and lows of 75°F (24°C). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, reaching highs of 86°F (30°C) before cooling to 71°F (20°C) overnight. In the hills, temperatures will be cooler, with daytime highs of 72°F (22°C) and lows of 65°F (18°C).
The forecast for Wednesday and Wednesday night suggests a continuation of similar weather conditions, with scattered showers expected across the country.
Today’s tidal activity includes a low tide at 8:04 AM, a high tide at 2:09 PM, and another low tide at 9:42 PM. Tomorrow’s early high tide is forecast for 3:48 AM. Sunrise took place at 6:23 AM, with sunset expected at 5:49 PM. The moon will rise at 10:47 AM today and set at 12:03 AM tomorrow.
Forecaster Francisca Wellington encourages Belizeans to take advantage of the mostly dry and pleasant conditions, while keeping an eye out for brief showers, particularly inland and along the coast tonight. Marine activities should be planned with moderate sea conditions in mind.
