Belize to see sunny skies today before potential impact of Hurricane Beryl

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a generally fair and sunny day with cloudy spells today, according to the National Meteorological Service. However, isolated showers or thunderstorms may occur, increasing in frequency closer to Thursday morning.

Marine conditions will see easterly to northeasterly winds at 10-15 knots, with choppy seas and waves of 3-5 feet. Temperatures will range from 88°F (31°C) along the coast to 93°F (34°C) inland.

The focus remains on Hurricane Beryl, a dangerous Category 4 hurricane currently southeast of Kingston, Jamaica. Beryl is moving west-northwestward with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph. The National Meteorological Service continues to closely monitor the storm’s progress, as it is expected to bring increased showers and thunderstorms to Belize on Thursday and Thursday night.
