By Zoila Palma: Members of the Belize Territorial Volunteers (BTV) made a visit to the Sarstoon today, where they witnessed heightened tensions on the river.
Despite being surrounded by three Guatemalan Armed Forces (GAF) vessels, the Belize Defence Force (BDF) and Coast Guard stood their ground with professionalism and courage, defending Belize’s sovereignty.
Video footage posted to social media by Nigel Petillo shows a BDF and Coast Guard vessel operating within Belizean waters while three Guatemalan boats maneuvered nearby.
