Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) confirms that, following the Caribbean Court of Justice’s November 5, 2025 judgment in Erven Marin Et al v Belize Telemedia Limited regarding severance payments, the company commenced the processing and payment of all eligible claims without delay. BTL continues to act in full compliance with the rulings of the courts and the laws of Belize, and all actions taken to date have been in accordance with applicable labour and legal requirements.

In November 2025, BTL informed its employees of its decision to:

Continue with existing employer pension contributions to the Pension Funds; and

Commence severance accruals by BTL, for severance payments upon exit as a separate line item.

BTL also swiftly commenced to discharge its obligation to settle severance payments to former employees who were the appellants in the Caribbean Court of Justice appeal case in Erven Marin Et al v Belize Telemedia Limited and others who were within the six-year limitation period prescribed by Section 4 of the Limitation Act. To date:

BTL has fully settled the severance claims in regards to Erven Marin Et al v Belize Telemedia Limited;

BTL has also settled ninety-eight percent (98%) of claims that are eligible based on the applicable limitation period;

The remaining two percent (2%), which represents three (3) former employees, have not attended BTL offices to complete the disbursement.

The Board of Directors of BTL continues to actively review the matter concerning the Belize Communications Workers’ for Justice (BCWJ) and non-members whose employment falls outside the six-year limitation period under Section 4 of the Limitation Act and anticipates completing its final review at its next sitting. In due course, BTL will formally communicate its position about those employees whose employment ceased more than six years ago.

BTL remains dedicated to supporting its current and former employees and to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance. The Company reaffirms its commitment to the rule of law, ensuring that all decisions and actions are guided by legal obligations and principles of fairness.
