This milestone is being hailed as a testament to BTL’s dedication to innovation and customer engagement.
The Signature Plus Store is more than a retail space; BTL bills it as a hub for learning and creativity, showcasing the latest advancements in connectivity technology. BTL’s Chairman, Mark Lizarraga, expressed pride in the company’s transformation over the past five years, emphasizing a bold strategy to redefine telecommunications in Belize.
“It is with great pride and a deep sense of purpose that I stand before you today to reflect on this remarkable transformation that BTL has undertaken,” Lizarraga stated during the opening ceremony. “We recognize that to truly serve our stakeholders, we needed to evolve and improve not just incrementally but fundamentally. Our investments have been focused on expanding and modernizing our workspaces for both our staff and customers.”
Prime Minister John Briceño also weighed in on the significance of the store’s opening, recalling the challenges BTL faced over the past decade. “It gives you a sense of pride…we had to do our best to make sure we can right the ship. I think we have had a good set of directors at the board level. And once you provide your staff with the proper leadership, vision and respect, I think great things can happen,” Briceño remarked.
Highlighting the success of BTL’s recent efforts, the Prime Minister pointed out the remarkable turnaround in the company’s performance since the government took steps to stabilize it. “In 2019, BTL earned about a million dollars, and look at where we are today,” he noted, commending the efforts of the board and staff for driving positive change.
