Kickoff was set for 9:00 am, with both teams seeking redemption after a pair of tough losses. Belize, still searching for their first goal and first win of the tournament, fell 3–0 to Honduras on Saturday following a similar 0–3 defeat to Costa Rica on Thursday. El Salvador, meanwhile, were edged 2–0 by Costa Rica and 4-2 by Honduras. They sit just above Belize in the standings on goal difference.
Today’s match carries significant implications for final placement. A win for Belize would lift them to third in Group B and earn them a spot in the 5th-place match against Group A’s third-place team. A loss, however, would leave them at the bottom of the group and send them to the 7th-place match.
Despite semifinal hopes being out of reach, the BBNT are determined to close out group play with a good match.

- Costa Rica – 6 pts (5 GF, 0 GA, +5 GD)
- El Salvador – 0 pts (2 GF, 6 GA, –4 GD)
