By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize close out their participation in the 2026 Concacaf Under‑17 Qualifiers on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, against Cuba, the strongest team in Group F and the side now heavily favoured to advance to the FIFA U‑17 World Cup. The match will be played at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City.
Belize vs Cuba kicks off on Wednesday, February 11, at 4:00 pm as Group F reaches its decisive conclusion. El Salvador close off against Curaçao at 7:00 pm.
Cuba enter the final round as the group’s most in‑form team after defeating El Salvador 2–1 on Sunday, a result that dramatically reshaped the standings and the expectations. El Salvador had come into group play believing they were the favourites — at least in their own estimation — but their loss to Cuba has left them in an unexpected position: now hoping Belize can pull off an upset to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
Belize, meanwhile, arrive at the final match encouraged by their performance in Sunday’s 2–2 draw with Curaçao, where the U17 Belize Men’s National Team (U17 BMNT) led 2–0 at halftime thanks to goals by Andy Pop (2′) and Byron Marroquin (41′) before Curaçao equalized through Jëalardino Floranus (64′) and Eljan Sparen (68′).
That result earned Belize their first point of the tournament after opening with a 3–1 loss to El Salvador on Friday.
Cuba, however, present a far tougher challenge. Their win over Curaçao on Matchday 1 and their comeback victory over El Salvador have positioned them as the clear frontrunners to top Group F. A win or even a draw on Wednesday would likely be enough to send them through.
For the U17 BMNT, the match is an opportunity to finish the qualifiers on a strong note and potentially influence the final standings. For El Salvador, it is a match they will be watching closely — their World Cup hopes now rest on the U17 BMNT producing their best performance of the tournament.
