By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect fair skies and warm conditions today, with minimal rainfall and calm seas, according to the latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies and isolated showers, with a slight increase in rainfall expected offshore tonight. Winds remain light from the north and northeast, keeping temperatures high but conditions stable across most of the country.

While Hurricane Melissa continues to wreak havoc on Jamaica and nearby islands, forecasters emphasize that the system poses no immediate danger to Belize. Melissa remains a Category 5 hurricane, packing winds of 160 mph as it drifts west at 3 mph.

Weather conditions in Belize are expected to stay fair into Tuesday and Tuesday night, providing a brief window of calm even as the wider Caribbean faces one of the strongest hurricanes in recent memory.
